Description

Bougainvillea Light Pink Plant

Bougainvillea is a thorny decorative vine, bush, or tree genus with flower-like spring leaves surrounding its blossoms. Woody perennial vine or shrub (or small tree) reaching a height of up to 12 m and a width of up to 7 m, upright or clambering. The papery bracts of the Bougainvillea usually occur in threes and are crimson or pink. Bougainvillea leaves are heart-shaped, and the plant often develops a twisted trunk as it matures. The Bougainvillea trunk, which is initially ragged, thickens with age.

Bougainvillea is a daylight plant that thrives in a warm atmosphere. It has massive roots that don’t like to be disturbed. When they bloom, they offer a splash of colour to your walls, creating a relaxing atmosphere. They come in a variety of colours, varieties, and sizes, ranging from white to purple. There are several double-flowered variants. The colourful bracts of bougainvillea bloom throughout the year in tropical and subtropical areas. Blooms last four to six weeks on average.

Maintenance:

  • It likes a deep, three- to four-week irrigation versus frequent shallow waterings. If you overwater a bougainvillea, it might get fungal infections and root rot.
  • Bougainvillea flowers are better if it is kept dry. There will be a lot of green growth and fewer blossoms if you use too much water.
  • Place bougainvillea in full light for the greatest results. Give them at least 5 hours in full sunlight per day if you want them to bloom well.
  • It is preferable to have more hours of direct sunlight. If you wait less than 5 hours, the plant may not blossom properly.

Benefits:

  • The most widely planted bougainvillea species for ornamental purposes.
  • The brilliant bracts of the plants attract pollinators to the garden. Bees and butterflies are examples of such insects.
  • It’s used to treat diabetes, hypertension, and cholesterol. Anticancer, antidiabetic, antihepatotoxic, anti-inflammatory, antihyperlipidemic, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and antiulcer characteristics have also been discovered.
